500MM CLOSE-UP

Late May Early June 2001:

Due to poor recordkeeping I can not be sure when these two were taken.  I do remember however that they were on the same night.  I had felt pretty good about my first season photographing lightning so I decided to expand on some equipment.  The first thing would be a 500mm telephoto lens.  This storm died out just as quickly as it had formed.  I got one shot with the lens and that was the last bolt to come out of the storm.  The second photo was of another storm a little further south near Chesapeake and this one died just as quickly.  Pretty impressive discharge for a dieing thunderstorm.  Camera and film:  Minolta x370s and Fuji film 100 ISO.
