LARGE GUSTFRONT/ SHELF CLOUD JUNE 25, 2012

LARGE SHELF CLOUD OVER PORTSMOUTH, VA.

June 25, 2012:

A large line of severe storms dropped south along a cold front in the afternoon of Monday. By the time the line started to make its way into my area-Portsmouth, Va. it had begun to gust out. Winds picked up and may have been in the 30mph range with higher gusts in other areas. I basically got stuck in rush hour traffic and finally pulled over to get a few photos of the storms as the moved in at about 40mph. Below is one of those shots as it plowed southward into the area. I may have a few other photos to add later.
