EVENING STORMS IN NAGS HEAD, N.C.

August 6, 2010

As the hot summer in the east continues, North Carolina has had its share of strong storms.  On August 5, 2010 another cold front pushed through Hampton Roads bringing much need rain and cooler temps if only for a short time to the area.  Well, we were in the Outer Banks of North Carolina on Friday August 7, 2010 fro the weekend.  Fellow chaser and friend Bill Coyle and I headed out to shoot some lighting from developing storms in the area after dinner.  We set up on the deck of some restaurant looking south along the Albemarle Sound.  You will notice in the a few of the photos below that they appear out of focus or fuzzy.  There is an on going debate between Bill and I as to why.  I believe that it was due to a board on the deck being loose and when someone walked by, well, it moved the board.  He thinks it is the lens.  I am not sure of the cause but I will be doing a test soon to determine the cause.
